Let’s take a closer look at one of the very unique recumbent builds. This is a bike created by Miro, our skilled mechanic who has been with AZUB for over 15 years. Miro has built countless bikes and trikes for AZUB, but this time he crafted something really special for himself. It’s based on the AZUB SIX, but this particular bike is designed for ultimate off-road performance. Built about a year ago, this is a one-of-a-kind machine built specifically for rugged terrain.

Miro’s custom build differs from the standard AZUB SIX in many ways. The factory model comes with a 20-inch front wheel and a 26-inch rear wheel, but Miro opted for a 24-inch rear wheel to make room for a fender that also protects the bike’s battery.

He also equipped it with a Super Expedition Carrier to securely mount the battery underneath the frame, a change from the typical under-seat on-side battery mount.

Key components and features

Electric assistance: The bike is powered by a Shimano EP6 motor paired with Shimano Di2 electronic shifting and an 11-speed cassette. The system offers both manual and automatic shifting for versatility and ease of use.

Suspension: No off-road bike is complete without quality suspension. Miro’s build includes a Spinner fork for the front suspension and a Suntour air shock at the rear to handle the rough terrains.

Custom Mesh Seat: In a nod to his comfort preferences, Miro chose a mesh seat typically found on trikes. It sits slightly lower than usual to make it easier for him to get on and off the bike, and provides excellent ventilation on longer rides.

Lighting system: The integrated front and rear lights are powered directly from the main battery, and include a high-beam function and a rear brake light.

A unique feature in addition to an integrated USB port in the light is the hidden USB port under the seat – just one of Miro’s many personal touches!

Practical accessories: Miro chose Ortlieb Sport Roller bags in the high-visibility version, ensuring that he is both visible and in style as the bags are in perfect harmony with the bike’s military-inspired olive-green frame.

Cockpit Gadgets: The cockpit is thoughtfully equipped with ESI grips, an easy-to-use motor controller on the left side, and shifting controls on the right. It even has a special mount for his watch and trike-style brake levers with a parking brake function.

While this recumbent is truly one of a kind, it is important to note that custom builds like this are only available through our exclusive EPIC level of customization.

For those interested, this bike is currently for sale as Miro is already planning to build another exciting project. If you’d like to learn more or see additional details, check out the video below.
