Although we’ve long changed our logo and the way AZUB looks today, we still have several sets of archived photos of bikes we built for our customers — and many of them are more than just interesting. One of those sets shows this duo of comfort-oriented AZUB MAX 26 recumbent bikes, fully equipped for multi-day journeys. Each features front and rear suspension, headrests, and racks for two pairs of panniers. One interesting detail? One bike has under-seat steering, and the other one has above-seat steering. But what’s the difference?
Under-seat steering is more comfortable, responds quicker, and many consider it the “real” recumbent feel. Above-seat steering, on the other hand, makes it easier to mount a phone or Garmin, takes up less space, is less prone to damage, and offers better aerodynamics.
The silver bike is in our standard color, while the blue one was custom-ordered. However, both were built using our premium ColorShop option, which includes racks, handlebars, and the front boom painted in the same color as the frame — instead of standard black.
