FAQ

Upgrades

Yes, of course.

However, it becomes significantly more complex on trikes equipped with a motor, as the cabling runs through the folding hinge. For this reason, if you are ordering a trike with an electric assist and considering adding a folding hinge later, we strongly recommend including it in your initial order.

This way, everything can be installed properly at AZUB, exactly as it should be.

Yes, it is possible.

Switching from Over Seat Steering (OSS) to Under Seat Steering (USS) is relatively straightforward. You’ll need our USS conversion kit, along with a complete rerouting of cables and housing for the brakes, shifting, and optionally the electric assist system.

Converting from USS to OSS is usually more complex. The front fork on USS setups has a shorter steerer tube, so in most cases, a new fork is required in addition to the OSS components.

Yes, it is possible.

It depends on the specification of your current trike. Drum brakes and the XL seat can make the conversion more complex, but otherwise, only new front wheels and a small custom component to adjust the geometry of your Ti-FLY are required.

We strongly discourage this.

Please note that in such cases, the warranty on the trike will no longer apply.

Customization

Yes, it is possible.

Please contact your recumbent dealer or reach out to our sales team—we’ll be happy to prepare a tailored offer for you.

Yes, it is possible within our EPIC level of builds.

Please contact your local dealer or reach out to us directly—we’ll be happy to guide you through the options.

No, this is not possible.

This is mainly because sufficiently long belts are not currently available, and also because it is not possible to maintain proper belt tension with a suspended rear triangle. Since most of our bikes feature rear suspension, a belt drive is not a viable solution.

No, this is not currently possible.

Yes, it is possible.

Simply arrange it with your dealer or contact us directly—we’ll deduct the cost of the unused components from the final bike price.

Tech details

No.

We design and test our bikes as complete systems, and the maximum weight limit is specified for each model.

Primarily because of the wide range of configurations we offer.

We can build a bike with lightweight components and minimal accessories—or, on the other hand, with more robust parts such as puncture-resistant tyres, heavy-duty rims, and a full set of accessories, which naturally increases the overall weight.

In addition, most of our recumbents today are equipped with electric assist, where the weight of the bike itself becomes less critical. The added comfort and durability—despite the extra weight—have only a minimal impact on the range per battery charge.

Motors

No, this is not currently possible.

We are currently testing this system and considering adding it to our lineup.

Please contact our sales team to check if it may already be available for order.

Yes, it is possible.

However, the installation of Bosch and Shimano motors is typically only available directly at AZUB in Uherský Brod, Czech Republic. Otherwise, alternative systems such as Bafang can be used.

Please note that we provide warranty coverage only for bikes equipped with motors with a nominal power of up to 350 W.

For bikes with a motor installed after purchase, we provide warranty coverage only if the motor’s nominal power does not exceed 350 W.

Buyer's Guide

Yes.

Our smallest model is the AZUB T-Trisek, suitable for riders from approximately 135 cm (4’3”). We can also adapt our standard models upon request.

Feel free to contact our sales team to find out how much we can adjust your ideal model to achieve the perfect fit.

So far, we haven’t encountered a rider too tall for us to build a bike for.

For exceptionally tall riders, we can adapt the bike by making a longer boom, or if needed, modifying the frame length to ensure a perfect fit.

Choosing a seat for a recumbent bike is easy as the decisive factor is the rider’s height.

Size S – 150 to 170 cm (4′ 11″ to 5′ 7″)
Size M – 165 to 180 cm (5′ 5″ to 5′ 11″)
Size L – 175 to 195/200 cm (5′ 9″ to 6′ 5″ / 6′ 7″)

Read our guide below.

It’s not possible to define a single universal rider weight limit. The right choice depends mainly on your riding style and the level of comfort you prefer.

Soft springs

  • Riders under 100 kg (220 lbs) seeking maximum comfort
  • Riders under 85 kg (187 lbs) looking for a sporty off-road machine
  • Riders under 85 kg (187 lbs) who prefer precise high-speed handling and want to enjoy fast descents and sharp corners
  • Riders under 85 kg (187 lbs) planning trips with a loaded trike
  • Demo trikes and rental fleets

Hard springs

  • All riders over 100 kg (220 lbs)
  • Riders over 85 kg (187 lbs) looking for a sporty off-road machine
  • Riders over 85 kg (187 lbs) who prefer precise high-speed handling and want to enjoy fast descents and sharp corners
  • Riders over 85 kg (187 lbs) planning trips with a loaded trike

If you’re unsure, feel free to contact us—we’ll be happy to help you find the perfect setup.

Important note

Please specify whether you prefer the soft or hard spring combination for your Ti-FLY when placing your order with your dealer.
